Interventional Radiology
Interventional Radiology is a branch of radiology that includes techniques used for diagnosis and treatment in the medical field. These methods are usually performed under local anaesthesia by entering the body through small needle holes. In this way, diseases can be intervened more easily than before and open surgeries or surgical procedures are no longer necessary. Interventional Radiology provides diagnosis and treatment using imaging methods such as angiography, ultrasound and computed tomography.
This method can be used in all vascular treatments (blockage, ballooning, bleeding, etc.) except for cardiac vessels. It is also frequently used in many areas such as cyst treatment, varicose vein treatment and liver cancer treatment. In addition, pathological samples can be obtained from the removed or drained cysts and information can be obtained about whether it is malignant or not.
